Jacqueline Hill
Studio Director
Jacqueline is a 35 year veteran to dance with over 20 years of performance experience and 24 years of professional teaching and choreography; spanning four continents and a dozen countries. Boasting a passion for training and inspiring dancers that is unparalleled.
While living in the UK she studied and trained at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dance in London completing her RAD examinations. At the early age of 11 she began performing in professional theatre with top television personalities in the traditional British stage Pantomimes. In her spare time she avidly participated in the International Dance Teacher Associations top competitions taking home numerous gold medals (yes...when there was only Gold, Silver & Bronze).
Upon returning to Santa Clarita, as a Junior in High School, Jacqueline was approached to train at the top Los Angeles dance studios. At just 18 years of age Jacqueline received a professional dance scholarship to EDGE Performing Arts Center in Hollywood, where professional dancing became an all consuming passion. Trained in all styles of dance from Classical Ballet to Hip Hop, Jacqueline is a rarity among studio owners, dancers and performers. A first-time audition with the Laker Girls led to her selection to the world famous troupe. Quoted in many news articles she references the tools you need to be successful on the team. “It helps you in retaining information and learning it quickly".
While performing professionally she continued to teach at top LA studios including EDGE Performing Arts Center and internationally with multiple world renowned Dance Conventions and Competitions including LA Dance Force and EDGE, 3D Dance Network, Hoctor’s Dance Caravan and the Texas Association of Teachers of Dance. This international experience allowed her to hone her training and coaching techniques with a wide variety of students, skills and experience. Always in high demand as a top teacher, choreographer and competition judge she still travels judging competitions and teaching Master Classes to dancers, teachers and studio owners.
A few of her choreography credits include a variety of stage and screen performances:
Toy Story 2 World Premier at the El Capitan Theatre
Hollywood Fantasia 2000 release at the El Capitan Theatre
Hollywood Mulan World Premier at the Hollywood Bowl
Worldwide re-release of The Little Mermaid at Madison Square Gardens
Sweet Valley High FOX Network
ShoWest & VSDA industrials
Competition Teams across the USA request Jacqueline years in advance.
Performance credits include The Tracy Ullman Show (FOX Network), American Choreographer Awards, Sweet Valley High, Jerry Lewis Telethon, the World Premier for Hunchback or Notre Dame at the New Orleans Superdome, Toy Story at the El Capitan, Romeo & Juliet guest performer with the Joffrey Ballet Company and the 1997 MTV Movie Awards where she worked with Mike Myers on his opening number. Myers was hysterical and his satire of "Lord of the Dance" has often been referred to as one of the funniest moments on television. She also worked with Holland America Cruise Lines as Principal Dancer and Dance Captain abourd their cruise ships.
Jacqueline also has an extensive local history. Specifically recruited to create and train a level of performance never seen in the Santa Clarita Valley, she created Company ’84, Dance Studio 84’s most advanced performance group. Jacqueline was solely responsible for teaching all styles of dance, creating all top level choreography, custom costuming and directing the group for 6 years. In 2006, Jacqueline moved on to begin ELITE Dance Studios. She couldn’t hold back her desire to offer the Valley a truly professional dance studio.
In 2006 she opened her own studio, ELITE Dance Studios and formed the ELITE Performance Group and the ELITE Petite. Quickly becoming the “go to, must have” studio. Her performance groups are booked solid at least a year in advance, beating out L.A. studios Millennium and Edge. Working with up and coming Radio Disney Bands and Actors, Hip Hop artists at the Key Club on Sunset, music videos, stage and television, along with endless local performances. The Westfield Group include ELITE in all of their biggest events. Kids Day International and Stern Talent management uses ELITE exclusively. The City of Santa Clarita keeps ELITE on their calendar year round requesting Jacqueline’s latest creations to make their events the best. ELITE is the only studio to be invited to perform annually at the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station “Haunted Jailhouse” and the Saugus Speedway’s “Oldies and Goodies” Auto Show. Jacqueline and ELITE were the first studio ever to collaborate with the LA GALAXY and The Home Depot Center to bring dancers to the field for game days with crowds of 20,000.
Since opening ELITE in 2006, the studio has had unparalleled success being the fastest growing studio with the most prominent Performance Group in the history of local dance studios. With tremendous skill and knowledge Jacqueline continues to produce the only professional dancers to come out of the SCV while guiding all of ELITE's dancers to thrilling heights.
